What a Doula Actually Does
A doula is the person in the room who's only thinking about you. Not the monitors. Not the chart. You.
Meg provides physical comfort (positioning, massage, counter pressure, breathing techniques), emotional support (reassurance, encouragement, calm presence), and practical guidance (helping you understand your options so you can make informed decisions). She works for you, not the hospital.
She doesn't perform medical tasks, make decisions for you, or speak to your care team on your behalf. She's your advocate, your coach, and your calm in the chaos.
Why a Doula with a PT Background Is Different
Most doulas are trained in comfort measures. Meg is trained in how your body works. She's a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in the pelvic floor. That means the positioning suggestions, the breathing cues, the physical support she provides during labor aren't just comforting. They're clinically informed.
She understands pushing mechanics. She knows which positions take pressure off specific muscles and which ones help baby descend. She can read how your body is responding and adjust in real time.
After birth, the postpartum visit isn't just a check-in. Meg can do an early pelvic floor assessment and give you real guidance on recovery, not just "do your Kegels." If you want to continue with pelvic floor PT after the postpartum period, she's already your provider. No explaining your history to a stranger.

Birth Doula Support Package
Birth Doula Support
- $500 at contract signing (secures your birth on the calendar)
- $500 at 38 weeks (start of on-call period)
- $500 after birth (due at postpartum visit)
Accepted: cash, Venmo, credit/debit card, HSA/FSA.
After the Birth
The postpartum visit is included in your doula package. But recovery doesn't stop at one visit.
If you want to keep working with Meg on your pelvic floor recovery (leaking, pain, c-section scar tissue, diastasis recti, returning to exercise), she already knows your body and your birth story. No intake forms, no starting from scratch. You just keep going.
Doula Client Bonus: Postpartum PT Transition
Because Meg was your doula, you get a head start on recovery:
- Initial evaluation waived (normally $225). Meg already knows your body, your birth, and your history. No starting from scratch.
- 15% off your care plan when you continue into pelvic floor PT after delivery. Applies to any care plan for as long as you're a member.
Available to all birth support clients. No rush to decide. We'll talk about it at the postpartum visit if you're interested.
How It Works
Step 1: Book a free discovery call. We'll talk about where you are in your pregnancy, what you're looking for, and whether Meg is the right fit.
Step 2: If it feels right, we'll schedule an in-person consultation (also free). You and your partner meet Meg, ask questions, and get comfortable.
Step 3: Sign the agreement, pay the first installment, and your birth is on the calendar. Meg is yours.
